Rwanda is made up of five domestic provinces: Kigali City, Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western. But Rwanda's heart stretches far beyond its borders — to us, the Rwandan diaspora. We are Intara ya 6, the Sixth Province, a beloved extension of Rwanda wherever we live in the world.
Wherever we are, we carry Rwanda's name with pride. We are ambassadors of our culture, our values, and our extraordinary story of resilience.
As the Sixth Province, we maintain deep ties with home — investing in Rwanda's future, visiting family, and staying engaged with national life.
Our greatest duty is to ensure our children know who they are. The Sixth Province passes its culture, language, and identity to every new generation.
"I am Rwandan. Wherever I am, Rwanda is in me."
Ndi Umunyarwanda is a national initiative that promotes Rwandan identity, unity, and reconciliation. It affirms that every Rwandan — wherever they live, whatever their background — belongs to one people, one nation, one family. We in Melbourne embrace this spirit fully. We are Rwandans first, united across every difference, bound by a shared history and a shared future.
Our diversity is our strength. Our unity is our identity.
